BLOODY GROUND

BLOODY GROUND – By Mayowa Fagbure

Now, estates are built on bloody ground
And people die and are forgotten
Even faster than it takes you to blink

Like that
Somebody else is killed
And there goes the cycle of wrath
From one man to another

There are many metaphors for men in white who conceal guns
in their clothing
With slippery tongues
That coerce and deceive

Storried Bloody Ground

They built the house on bloody ground!
The boy deserved to live live live!
You can’t kill innocent people and sweep it under the rug!
There is a body!
A mother, a family!

But I’m yelling only into wind
Because everyone’s windows is wound all the way up
and the news is in ration and rotation
this story is not important enough.
