DON’T DILUTE THE ANOINTING

DON’T DILUTE THE ANOINTING – By Ify Omeni

Last week I received a message titled When No One is Watching which I shared with everyone.

Today, this message resounded in my spirit and I felt God was still saying something so I am sharing it with you all.

I had a discussion with a friend who was bothered about the plight of writers in Nigeria, especially creative writers. She told me of how she went to submit her script to an online platform and she was told disdainfully that ‘they don’t accept religious material.’

She said she had heard a lot of other believers complain about the same thing. I told her I had experienced it before. I also encountered several believers who were told to “dilute” the message in their manuscripts to gain mass acceptance.

I was angry in my spirit at what I termed HERESY!

My dear fellow believer what makes you think the Christian message of hope cannot “appeal” to a secular audience?

The packaging is usually the problem!

I have been a book editor for many years and I have had clients who write “just anything” and tell me that “the anointing” will cover up the obvious lapses.

Hello! The anointing is an EXCELLENT SPIRIT!

Storried Dont dilute the Anointing

The righteous is MORE EXCELLENT than his neighbour but the WAY OF THE WICKED (A pull towards mediocrity) seduces him. Check Proverbs 12:26.

If you doubt what I am saying, read novels by Karen Kingsbury, Francine Rivers and their contemporaries. These women write PURE CHRISTIAN FICTION and they are affecting the lives of people everywhere and WINNING AWARDS!

Their writings can appeal to ANYONE LITERATE ENOUGH TO READ!

What of the BESTSELLER films like WAR ROOM, HEAVEN IS REAL, MIRACLES FROM HEAVEN, FIREPROOF, DO YOU BELIEVE, GOD’S NOT DEAD, to mention a few!

The producers of these films are making the famous Hollywood producers jittery and the latter are “rushing to catch up with them.”

The blockburster movie WAR ROOM is now being used to encourage women to persevere and fight for their marriages!

Dear Christian writer, who SOLD YOU THAT LIE that you must DILUTE THE ANOINTING to make your creative works sell?

Anything you COMPROMISE to get, you EVENTUALLY LOSE.

The popular maxim states “If you can’t beat them, you join them.” Wrong! Beat them and STAND OUT!

I write secular stuff like many other Christians out there. Especially those who write school text books.

But you don’t have to “coat your writing” to please anyone. Whatever you write, you WILL have an audience!

God created a NEED for the SEED he put in you!

This applies to every area of life.

Do not hide your status as a Christian because you want to be accepted in your office.

Do not be a DEMON during the week and a SAINT IN THE CATHEDRAL..

Let the whole world see Jesus on your forehead.

Let your watchword be: No compromise.

The popular Christian musician, Frank Edwards was asked to remove the name Jesus from his songs and replace with God. It seemed a very harmless suggestion and there was a JUICY PACKAGE attached to his acceptance.

But like the biblical Joseph and Daniel, he saw the finger of compromise and refused.

God rewarded him with a JUICIER PACKAGE than the one he was offered before.

I had to give a class presentation when I was a masters student at Pan Atlantic University and I started it with a story of a pastor who organised a crusade.

That did not stop me from getting a standing ovation from my classmates and the lecturer!

Someone commented about my writings, “I always see the cross before you when you write.” And I boldly said, “Yes, the world is behind me and the cross is before me.”

I get divinely inspired ideas for all my writeups and I always acknowledge God for giving me this gift.

How can I be ashamed of the one to whom I owe my success?

Take a cue from these testimonies.

Do not dilute the anointing!
