THE MIRACLE

THE MIRACLE – By Chinasa Purity

Before I became a Christian, I was weak. I never believed I could achieve anything or be anything.
I go to church now, regularly, and I hear my pastor quote words from the Bible:

“’You have the mind of Christ…. ‘Ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people…’ ’Ye are the light of the world….let your light shine before men that they may see your glory…’”

I began to believe great things about myself and future. I made a decision in the beginning of my walk with God that I’ll never go back to my old life; I was going to do everything scripture says.

My pastor showed us from scriptures that winning of souls is what God loves; I began to do it; even when my introverted self fought against it, I did it. I enjoyed a kind of success that made me bolder in talking with people; something I used to lack.

One day, I chose a market to preach. No one cared to hear me. I was non-existent. Each time I go to a seller to initiate a conversation a buyer comes and drains my voice away. I tried to shout but no one cared. I knew I had to do something extraordinary for the attention I desired.

Storried The Miracle

Somewhere around the center of the market laid a crippled man begging for help. “Pray for him!” a voice said. What if he doesn’t walk? I’ll be mocked at by the whole market – I thought.

I noticed a passage free of movement. I summoned courage, went to him and carried him there. If I pray and it doesn’t work at least no one will notice.

I did it. I commanded him to get up in the name of Jesus, lifted him up with my hands till he could stand firm on his own. Soon he was jumping around the market square screaming, “Yea! Yea! I can waka o…..”

Soon the whole market was a-buzz with excitement and curiosity.

“Na that pastor wey been dey preach na him heal am o…….”

“I see when him carry the cripple man go for corner, I think say him wan help the man to wee wee”.

Many rushed to me, especially the women, “Pastor pray for me too o!”

“Bless me too o….”

This made me bolder. I raised my voice louder and said, “If anyone here wants this kind of impossible miracle, you must know the Lord Jesus!”

“It is not I but He that did it.”

I went on to tell them about Jesus and many were converted to Christianity that day.

The results of that day have made me bolder about sharing my faith for I knew that through the miracles I came to a full assurance that He is real.
